Despite having a contract until 2026, he has struggled for playing time, only starting twice in the Croky Cup and making four brief appearances in the league. Several Turkish clubs are reportedly interested in him, and Westerlo might receive a modest transfer fee. Gümüskaya was previously loaned to Samsunspor and returned to Westerlo in the summer.
