Moussa Niakhaté leaving Nottingham Forest?

Moussa Niakhaté has signed with Olympique Lyonnais for a duration of 4 years. The transfer fee is £27 million (€31.9 million). Niakhaté passed his medical examination and is the first signing of the summer for OL.

The transfer is expected to be officially announced soon. Moussa Niakhaté, the Senegalese defender, has been playing for Nottingham Forest for the past two seasons. He announced his departure from the English club on his social media, expressing gratitude towards the club, staff, teammates, and supporters.

Moussa Niakhaté is set to sign a four-year contract with Olympique Lyonnais (OL). The transfer was completed between John Textor, the American owner of OL, and Evangelico Marinakis, his counterpart at Nottingham Forest.

Lyon is close to completing the signing of Moussa Niakhaté. The transfer has accelerated in the last few hours. A medical examination is already planned. The operation is estimated at around 15 million euros. Niakhaté decided to join Lyon on the advice of his former teammate Orel Mangala.

The sale of defender Moussa Niakhate could help Nottingham Forest avoid further sanctions. The Senegal star is subject of an offer deemed too good to turn down for Forest with talks ongoing between the interested parties.
