Atalanta has contacted the entourage of Danish midfielder Morten Frendrup from Genoa.

Genoa is currently not inclined to sell Morten Frendrup, who is considered a key player for the team. Nonetheless, they remain open to considering potential offers that might be presented during the January transfer window or in the summer. Atalanta has shown interest in Frendrup, although they are also exploring other possibilities. Frendrup's contract with Genoa is set to run until June 2028, with an annual net salary of 800,000 euros. The club believes that retaining him until the end of the season could potentially increase his value. Frendrup was transferred from Brondby in January 2022 for a fee of less than 4 million euros, and Genoa is now prepared to entertain proposals that are five times that amount.

Genoa does not want to sell Morten Frendrup at the moment. Both Atalanta and Milan are interested in the player, but so far neither club has made concrete proposals. Genoa might consider offers over 20 million euros, but the conditions must also be right, such as leaving Frendrup on loan at Genoa until the end of the season. It is unclear if the interested clubs are willing to accept these conditions.

Morten Frendrup is also on the radar of Atalanta, with the club's sports director Tony D'Amico showing interest. Genoa's new ownership is reluctant to sell Frendrup in the January market unless an irresistible offer, exceeding 15 million euros, is made.
