Barcelona has shown interest in Thiago Alcántara. The club has contacted him after he announced his departure from Liverpool.

Hansi Flick, rumoured to be the new head coach for Barcelona, is reported to be keen on signing Thiago Alcantara. The Spaniard, who only made one Premier League appearance in the 2023-24 season due to injuries, has a contract with Anfield set to expire next month. Despite Liverpool showing no interest in keeping him, Flick intends to make the 33-year-old a player-assistant at Camp Nou.

Thiago Alcántara is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. Barcelona has asked Thiago how he plans his future for the upcoming season. His departure from Liverpool is confirmed after four years, his contract will not be extended. Barcelona, however, should not be particularly optimistic, as a career end as a player for Thiago apparently does not seem to be on the cards. Flick and Thiago know each other from their time together at FC Bayern, where they won the Champions League 2020 together. In addition, Thiago has gone through the famous Barca academy 'La Masia' and thus knows the Catalan club very well.
