Miguel Almirón has made a return to MLS club Atlanta United after six years. The American club has agreed to pay 9.5 million euros for the 30-year-old offensive player, with an additional 3.5 million euros contingent on bonuses. Almirón has signed a contract until 2027, with an option for an additional year. He had previously left the Georgia-based club in January 2019 for a transfer fee of 24 million euros to join Newcastle United. During his time at Newcastle, the Paraguayan had recently been playing only sporadically, accumulating a total of just 150 minutes in the Premier League this season.

Newcastle United have officially reached an agreement to sell Miguel Almiron back to Atlanta United for a fee of approximately €11.5 million. The Paraguayan international has had a limited role at St James’ Park this season and is now close to rejoining the MLS team, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. Romano indicated on X that Miguel Almiron is departing Newcastle to rejoin Atlanta United, with confirmation of a verbal agreement reached between all parties, including the player's side on a four-and-a-half-year contract. The fee is around $12 million (€11.5 million), and Almiron is set to travel for medical tests. Almiron has only accumulated 150 Premier League minutes this season and has not contributed to a goal since February 2024. He previously scored 22 goals in 70 appearances during a two-year period at Atlanta before transferring to Newcastle in January 2019, where he helped secure the MLS Cup in 2018.

Miguel Almiron is set to join Atlanta United. A verbal agreement has been reached between all parties, including the player, for a 4.5-year contract. Newcastle will receive 14.2 million euros for the transfer. Almiron will travel to the USA immediately to undergo medical tests and sign the contract. He previously played for Atlanta United from 2017 to 2019.
