Al-Shabab remain interested in Miguel Almiron, although the player is reported to still prefer a move to MLS over Saudi Arabia. It is understood that Major League Soccer side Charlotte FC are actively negotiating to sign him from Newcastle United in January, following a previous attempt to secure a deal during the summer. Charlotte currently holds Almiron's MLS discovery rights, which grants them exclusive negotiation privileges within the league. Newcastle, who originally demanded a £16 million fee, are now reportedly open to selling Almiron for around £8 million. The Paraguayan international, who has been relegated in Eddie Howe’s selection hierarchy at Newcastle, is seeking a club willing to meet or exceed his current £60,000-per-week wages.
