Palmeiras has finalized the details and agreed on the transfer of defender Micael from Houston Dynamo. Palmeiras will pay USD 5 million for 80% of the player's rights. The transfer is pending only the successful completion of a medical examination, after which the official announcement will be made.
Palmeiras is showing interest in acquiring Micael, a 24-year-old Brazilian left-footed defender currently playing for Houston Dynamo. ESPN has confirmed the negotiations, which were first reported by American journalist Tom Bogert. Talks are ongoing involving Palmeiras, the player, and the MLS team, though the process is still in its early stages. Micael, who developed his skills at Atlético-MG and played a part in their Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil victories in 2021, transferred to Houston Dynamo in 2022. He has made a significant impact in the MLS, scoring two goals in 42 matches last season and accumulating a total of 80 appearances with three goals for the Texas-based club. Should the transfer be completed, Micael would be Palmeiras' fifth new signing of the year, joining the ranks of Facundo Torres, Paulinho, Emiliano Martínez, and Bruno Fuchs.
