Maxence Lacroix leaving VfL Wolfsburg?
Maxence Lacroix is flying into the UK today to have a medical with Crystal Palace. The Eagles have agreed a £21m deal with Wolfsburg to sign the centre-back. Palace will pay an initial £18m for the Frenchman, plus £3m in add-ons. The 24-year-old is being brought in as a replacement for Joachim Andersen, who joined Fulham last week.
Maxence Lacroix does not want to extend his contract, which expires in 2025, despite the appreciation from coach Ralph Hasenhüttl. VfL Wolfsburg is in a dilemma as the French center-back is a potential key player and impressed during preparation. To generate a transfer fee, he would actually need to move.
Maxence Lacroix is considered as an alternative if the deal for Jean-Clair Todibo does not go through.
