Max Dowman: Arsenal U18 Contract Extension
Arsenal are well-placed to secure Max Dowman on a long-term professional contract when he turns 17, although they are facing notable competition from several leading clubs across Europe. Dowman, regarded as one of England’s foremost talents, has made history as the youngest goalscorer in the UEFA Youth League. He is already involved in Arsenal’s first-team training sessions. Arsenal are keen to persuade him to remain with them amidst considerable interest in him. He will be able to sign scholarship terms after his 16th birthday in December, but there is a possibility he could choose to leave Arsenal as various clubs are preparing to negotiate a deal. According to David Ornstein from The Athletic, Arsenal must make a compelling case to secure his signature, and it is possible they won't know if they have been successful until late 2025 or early 2026. Arsenal need to demonstrate that their pathway and plans align with his aspirations. The recent trip to Dubai with Arsenal reflects Mikel Arteta's high regard for Dowman.
