Newell's Old Boys had a plan to acquire 50% of Matko Miljevic's rights for approximately $500,000 in three installments until September. The club also committed to partially covering the player's financial obligations due to a conflict with the TAS. However, Newell's decided not to proceed with the purchase due to Miljevic's recent indiscipline, including incidents during matches against Boca and Talleres. The decision was communicated by club president Ignacio Astore.
