Rayan Cherki Transfer from Olympique Lyonnais to FC Bayern München
Bayern Munich have Rayan Cherki on their shortlist and are interested in the player, according to Christian Falk. However, the Bavarian club is not prepared to sanction a move in the current transfer window, considering him a stronger candidate for the summer. The two clubs have a good relationship, partly because Michael Gerlinger, who previously worked with Bayern, is now the Global Football Director of the Eagle Football Holdings group, of which Olympique Lyonnais is a part.
Rayan Cherki, an attacking midfielder currently playing for Olympique Lyonnais, has been performing well this season. He has a release clause of 22 million euros set for the January transfer window, due to a verbal agreement made during his contract extension in September, which lasts until June 2026. Although a move does not seem imminent, top Bundesliga clubs, including Bayern Munich, are monitoring him closely.
FC Bayern is considering entering the race for Rayan Cherki. Bayern scouts observed Cherki during a Europa League match between Olympique Lyon and Eintracht Frankfurt, where Cherki impressed with a goal and two assists in Lyon's 3-2 victory. Cherki has a contract with Lyon until 2026, and Lyon demands a transfer fee of 30 to 35 million euros. Bayern's interest is reported by the 'Bild' podcast 'Bayern Insider'. Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in Cherki.
