Matheus Pereira Transfer from Cruzeiro to Palmeiras
Palmeiras, under the management of Abel Ferreira, has expressed interest in acquiring Matheus Pereira from Cruzeiro. Reports indicate that the club has made an initial offer of approximately 12.5 million euros, along with potential bonuses. Matheus Pereira is currently under contract with Cruzeiro until 2026. Cruzeiro aims to retain him and is demanding a higher fee, about 25 million euros. Pedro Lourenço, the owner of Cruzeiro's SAF, indicated that the club is not actively looking to sell players but to enhance the team, unless an offer is exceptionally advantageous for both the player and the club.
Palmeiras is showing interest in acquiring Matheus Pereira from Cruzeiro. Matheus Pereira is currently under contract with Cruzeiro until June 2026. Cruzeiro has indicated they are open to initiating negotiations with a starting price of 25 million euros. Although there is no official proposal on the table yet, Palmeiras is hopeful that their participation in the CONMEBOL Libertadores and the Club World Cup in 2025 might be appealing to Matheus Pereira. Formerly a player for Sporting, Nuremberg, West Bromwich, and Al Wahda, Matheus Pereira joined Cruzeiro on a permanent basis in June 2024 following an initial loan period from Al Hilal. His standout performances, comprising 74 matches, 12 goals, and 16 assists, have also led to call-ups for the Brazilian national team. Additionally, Cruzeiro is contemplating the possibility of including Palmeiras players in the transfer deal.
