Mateusz Klich Transfer from DC United to Atlanta United
Mateusz Klich has been officially announced as a new player for Atlanta United, having been acquired via a trade from DC United. The trade involved Atlanta United exchanging their first-round pick in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft (pick number 23) for Klich. DC United will retain a percentage of the budget charge for Klich's salary for 2025 and a Designated Player spot. Additionally, if Atlanta signs Klich to a new contract, DC United will receive 50,000 dollars in General Allocation Money in 2026.
Mateusz Klich is in the process of completing a transfer from DC United to Atlanta United, as reported by Tom Bogert and "The Washington Post." The transfer fee is expected to be between 300,000 to 350,000 dollars, with an additional draft pick included for DC United. It has been reported that DC United will keep a substantial portion of Klich's salary on their books, and the transfer will not free up a Designated Player spot for the team. The move will allow Klich to join a restructured Atlanta United team, which is currently in the market for a new head coach and has two available Designated Player spots, although Klich will not occupy one of these slots. Furthermore, Klich will have the opportunity to reunite with fellow Polish player Bartosz Slisz, who is recognized as a key member of the Atlanta team.
