Mateo Ponte is on loan to León-MEX, having been transferred to Botafogo for 2.2 million dollars. However, Botafogo is reportedly experiencing issues with payments to Montevideo Wanderers, the club that initially transferred Ponte. It is reported that a payment of 750,000 dollars was partially completed, leaving 375,000 dollars still outstanding. Additionally, another installment of 500,000 dollars is due in December. Montevideo Wanderers has taken the matter to FIFA.
