Markus Kolke is joining Werder Bremen for the new season's preparation.

Markus Kolke is moving from Hansa Rostocks to Werder Bremen for a fee of 100,000 Euros. He signed a contract until 2027. His role at Werder Bremen will be to provide experienced backup to the main keeper Michael Zetterer and deputy Mio Backhaus. Despite Hansa's relegation, Kolke will not have to play in the lower league due to his move to Werder Bremen.

Markus Kolke, 33-year-old goalkeeper, is moving from Hansa Rostock to Werder Bremen. Despite having a contract with Rostock until June 30, 2026, Kolke decided to change after five years. He signed a new three-year contract with Werder Bremen until 2027. Werder Bremen is paying a mid five-figure amount as a transfer fee to Rostock. Kolke's role in Bremen will be to enhance performance in training, contribute to a well-functioning team structure and line up as number three behind regular goalkeeper Michael Zetterer and Mio Backhaus, who is returning from loan to FC Volendam.
