Marko Rog leaving Cagliari?
Cagliari Calcio has announced on its official channels that player Marko Rog has been transferred to Dinamo Zagreb on loan until the end of the 2024-25 sports season. The Croatian midfielder, who joined Cagliari in the summer of 2019, played 79 games and contributed to their quick return to Serie A in the 2022-23 season. In February 2024, he was loaned to Dinamo Zagreb, where he helped the team win the national Championship and Cup. During the first part of the season, he played 22 matches. He now returns to Dinamo Zagreb to play regularly and improve his performance. The club wished him a successful continuation of the season.
Marko Rog's loan at Dinamo Zagreb is expected to be extended until the end of the season. The loan, which expires on December 31, is anticipated to be renewed until June 30, according to TuttoCagliari.net. After several serious injuries with the Sardinian club, in 2023, he returned to Zagreb, where he became a key player.
Marko Rog's loan expires in January, and Dinamo does not have a purchase option. His contract with Cagliari lasts for another year and a half. Dinamo has not yet decided on their course of action, but under certain conditions, they would like to retain Rog. Internal discussions will be held to determine their interest and plan for January.
Marko Rog was bought by Dinamo from RNK Split in 2015 for 5 million euros, making it the most expensive incoming transfer in HNL history.
Marko Rog will continue his loan at Dinamo Zagabria until December.
