M. Pongračić leaving Lecce?
An agreement in principle had been reached between Lecce and Stade Rennais for a transfer estimated at 12 million euros. However, this transfer is now void.
The deal had been done with the French side at a cost of €15m plus bonuses last week and he seemed to agree personal terms as well.
Lecce and Rennes had already agreed to a transfer for a fee of 15 million euros plus bonuses. The next step was supposed to be medical examinations, but this is unlikely to happen as Pongračić prefers to stay in Italy.
Lecce is looking for a replacement for Marin Pongračić. The player is set to leave the Italian club.
Everything was agreed upon, but a new candidate has emerged for Marin Pongračić's transfer.
Marin Pongracic, who had a challenging Euro 2024 with Croatia, is set to leave Lecce after two years in Serie A. Stade Rennais has reportedly agreed to a transfer fee of 15 million euros with Lecce to secure the defender.
Pongracic is highly requested and monitored by both Italian and foreign clubs. It would be difficult to keep him if he asks to leave.
There are interests from Serie A clubs for Pongracic, with rumors of advances since January.
Marin Pongračić's performances at the Euros have solidified his position in the Italian market. His market value is now estimated to be between 5 to 10 million euros. Lecce will decide whether to sell him for around 7-8 million euros or keep him.
