Marcus Thuram: Inter Contract Extension

Team Talk reports on Inter Milan's efforts to secure Marcus Thuram's long-term future at the club. Inter Milan are trying to renew Marcus Thuram's contract beyond 2028 to potentially raise or eliminate his release clause.

CalcioMercato has provided an update regarding Marcus Thuram's contract situation at Inter Milan. Thuram, who joined Inter Milan after leaving Borussia Monchengladbach on a free transfer, is currently playing for the club. The team's coach, Simone Inzaghi, reportedly considers him an indispensable player. Thuram is under contract with Inter Milan until June 30, 2028, earning a net salary of 6 million euros per season. His contract, however, includes a release clause of 85 million euros, which any top European club could potentially activate during the summer transfer window. Inter Milan is contemplating the removal of this clause and may also consider increasing Thuram's salary. With the assistance of the Decreto Crescita, the club might be able to offer a net salary of 7 million euros, amounting to a gross salary of 9.1 million. Both the club and Thuram have reportedly expressed a strong desire to continue their collaboration.

Inter Milan's management wants to remove the release clause of 85 million euros in Marcus Thuram's contract. Thuram is open to extending his contract but demands a salary increase to match his teammate Lautaro Martinez, who earns approximately 9 million euros per year. Negotiations are ongoing to see if both parties can reach an agreement.
