Marco Moreno has been excelling at Farense, participating regularly in 13 league matches, 12 as a starter, and in two Portuguese Cup games. Atlético de Madrid, which owns 50% of his rights and holds a buy-back option for the remaining 50% owned by the Portuguese club, is contemplating activating this option next season. Marco previously captained Atlético's B team, and Tevenet, his former coach and now assistant to Simeone, has reportedly been giving positive feedback about him to the Argentine coach. Moreno departed from Atlético last summer after an eight-year stint, opting to join Farense and the Portuguese league, and turned down offers from Cádiz, Sporting de Gijón, and Español. His performances have also caught the attention of Valencia and Sevilla, in addition to Atlético Madrid.
