M. Thiaw leaving Milan?
Newcastle's interest in Thiaw seems to have waned. Thiaw's departure could potentially open a spot for new signings at Milan.
If offers arrive for Thiaw, Milan will consider looking for new names.
Thiaw's agent, Stipic, has been exploring opportunities in the Premier League since January. Milan would consider offers in the range of 35-40 million euros. Other English clubs have shown interest in Thiaw, and further contacts are expected in the coming days.
Newcastle have been in discussions with Milan over a transfer for defender Malick Thiaw, with the Premier League side said to 'really appreciate' the 22-year-old.
Malick Thiaw, a key pillar of Milan's defense, has been reported to be eager to understand his future in the team's hierarchy, especially after a season below expectations, partly due to a long-term injury. There has been concrete interest from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, according to Bild. His future depends on the choice of the new coach. Notably, Milan could realize a significant capital gain with Thiaw. Having arrived in Milan in August 2022, the club has already paid out 8.8 million euros for him in fixed and bonus amounts. His residual value on the balance sheet as of June 30, 2024, will be 'only' 5.3 million euros. This means that with an amount higher than this, the Rossoneri club will record a capital gain. In Germany, the valuation bar is set at 30 million.
Malick Thiaw has been the best player on the field for Milan in the last championship round against Juventus. A convincing performance that moves away from a complicated period between injuries and some poorly played games. The German defender remains interested in Bayern Monaco.
