Maik Nawrocki leaving Celtic?
Maik Nawrocki has been permitted to look for a new club as Brendan Rodgers reportedly does not see a role for him in the team, as reported by 'Daily Record'. Although Nawrocki made a promising start after his transfer from Legia Warsaw to Celtic in the summer of 2023 for more than five million euros, he has found it difficult to secure playing time and is now allowed to explore other opportunities. His contract with Celtic is valid until May 31, 2028, but it seems unlikely that he will complete it. Rumors about a potential return to Ekstraklasa were dismissed by Legia Warsaw.
Nawrocki, due to health problems, played only fourteen matches in the previous campaign, and his situation remains unchanged this season with only one appearance. It was reported that former Legia player has no place in Glasgow because coach Brendan Rodgers does not see a spot for him. A winter transfer seems to be the best solution for both the Scottish club and the player. Celtic reportedly wants to part ways partly because the defender's salary is relatively high, and they intend to recover a significant portion of the amount spent on his transfer last year. It is suggested that Nawrocki should leave permanently, as a loan is unlikely to change Rodgers' mind. There is potential for him to leave on loan in January to be sold in the summer, but ultimately, if Nawrocki wants to play, he must leave Celtic.
Maik Nawrocki could leave Celtic next month, similar to Stephen Welsh and Luis Palma, who are also considering their futures at the club.
