Maik Nawrocki Transfer from Celtic to Oxford United
Maik Nawrocki has been struggling for game time at Celtic, and a loan move is under consideration. Oxford United, who are currently positioned 15th in the Championship, have expressed interest in signing him. Nawrocki has been granted the liberty to seek a new club, leaving the final decision in his hands. Gary Rowett, the manager of Oxford United, indicated that the club is actively pursuing efforts to strengthen the team and is engaged in discussions with agents and clubs to bring in new players. However, he did not confirm how serious the club's interest in Nawrocki is.
Oxford United are reportedly interested in securing a deal for Celtic’s Maik Nawrocki. The English Championship team is aiming to acquire the Polish defender on a loan basis. According to reports, Oxford's scouting team informed manager Gary Rowett about the 23-year-old player. Nawrocki is considered to be lower in the selection order at Celtic, with players like Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty, and Liam Scales ahead of him. Oxford United is looking to bolster their defense as part of their efforts to avoid relegation. It is uncertain whether Brendan Rodgers will decide to retain him as a backup option. Recently, Celtic allowed Stephen Welsh to join KV Mechelen on loan, although they have recalled Dane Murray from his loan at Queen’s Park. Nawrocki joined Celtic from Legia Warsaw in 2023, but has not managed to secure a regular spot in the first team.
