Mads Kikkenborg, the Danish goalkeeper, was acquired by Anderlecht from Lyngby BK last season for a transfer fee of 10 million Danish kroner (approximately 1.34 million euros). Despite being seen as a future number one, he lost the competition to Kasper Schmeichel and Colin Coosemans. Sheffield United, an English club, showed interest in Kikkenborg, but he remained with Anderlecht. His future at the club appears uncertain, and he was even allowed to leave last summer.
