Luis Suárez leaving Inter Miami?
Luis Suárez is considering not extending his contract with Inter Miami, which is set to expire in December. He might choose to retire in six months when he turns 39 in January 2025. His departure is viewed as crucial for Inter Miami's financial restructuring as he is one of the highest-paid players in the squad. Despite a recent heavy defeat in the Club World Cup against PSG, Suárez aims to leave Inter Miami on a high note, preferably by winning the MLS championship.
Luis Suarez's contract with Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer is ending this year. He mentioned that his lawyer has spoken with the club, and while he is focused on finishing the season well, he hopes to continue being part of the club. Suarez stated, 'It depends on the club. If it were up to me, I would be very happy with that.'
Lionel Messi will undoubtedly be the main absence that Inter Miami has in these weeks of Copa América, however, other footballers such as Luis Suárez and possibly some other South American players will go to the continental competition, thus leaving Inter Miami somewhat fragmented to face the MLS commitments.
