Luca Caldirola Transfer from Monza to Venezia
Luca Caldirola, an experienced left-footed central defender, is set to join Venezia. The transfer is described as 'all done' and Monza is in the process of letting go of some players. Meetings between the parties are expected in the coming days to finalize the operation.
Venezia is interested in acquiring Luca Caldirola from Monza to replace the injured Michael Svoboda. The interest was already present during the summer. However, Venezia faces challenges as Caldirola is currently the first option off the bench for Monza's coach Alessandro Nesta, and Monza's Adriano Galliani may be reluctant to strengthen a direct competitor for relegation survival.
Venezia is seeking reinforcements for the upcoming January transfer window. Sky reports that the team, under the management of Eusebio Di Francesco, has targeted Luca Caldirola. The Monza defender, born in 1991 and developed at Inter, is set to become a free agent at the end of this season. To date, he has made 98 appearances for Monza, scoring 3 goals. Throughout his career, Caldirola has also played for Vitesse in the Netherlands, Brescia, Cesena, Werder Bremen, and Darmstadt in Germany before returning to Italy with Benevento.
