Six years after his departure from Vienna, Louis Schaub returns to SK Rapid Wien. The 29-year-old signed a long-term contract with the Austrian traditional club until 2028. Hannover 96, Schaub's previous employer, is expected to receive a transfer fee in the mid six-figure range, his employment contract with the Lower Saxony second division club would have run until 2025.
Louis Schaub, an Austrian player, has been underperforming with only three goals and three assists. Towards the end of the season, he lost his regular spot to Lars Gindorf. There have been some casual inquiries from his home country, Austria. However, most Austrian clubs cannot afford his salary, let alone a transfer fee.
