Loïc Alvarez Fernandez Transfer from Genk U19 to OFI
OFI has announced that they have completed the acquisition of 17-year-old Belgian attacking midfielder Loïc Alvarez Fernandez from Genk. It was reported that the agreement between OFI and Genk was finalized more than 15 days ago, and since then, the player has been training under the guidance of Milan Rastavac. The process faced delays due to a bureaucratic procedure by FIFA, since the player is a minor. The transfer is structured as a 6-month loan with an option for OFI to purchase the player for an additional 2 years. Although Loïc Alvarez Fernandez has not yet made his senior debut, he is an active international player with Belgium's U17 team and has previously been involved with the U15 and U16 squads. Originally hailing from Anderlecht's academy, Fernandez made the move to Genk in 2020. Born on January 29, 2008, he has been officially welcomed into the OFI family as part of the club's strategy to bolster their roster with a focus on future potential.
