The Athletic has reported that centre-back captain Kurt Zouma is close to joining Dubai-based Shabab Al Ahli of the UAE Pro League. The Hammers won't get a transfer fee, despite the Frenchman having a year left on his contract, but his remaining wages will be covered.
Kurt Zouma is set to join Shabab Al Ahli, United Arab Emirates. According to Sky Sports, the West Ham captain will undergo medical examinations this week and then sign as a new player for Shabab Al Ahli. The transfer of the 29-year-old player, who still has one year left on his contract with the Hammers, will be free, with the Dubai club covering the costs of the last 12 months of salary for the French international.
Kurt Zouma is close to leaving West Ham. He played 33 matches in the Premier League last year and is being targeted by Shabab Al Ahli. The Emirati club is pushing hard to recruit him. Negotiations are well advanced, and only a few details remain to be settled. The defender is expected to undergo a medical examination soon.
