Kristian Hlynsson was linked with a move to Fortuna Düsseldorf, but negotiations have fallen through according to Icelandic journalist Orri Rafn Sigurdarson. Ajax wanted a fixed transfer fee and refused to loan the attacking midfielder again after his previous loan to Sparta Rotterdam. The club is only interested in selling him for the right price.
Kristian Hlynsson is contemplating a departure from Ajax due to insufficient playing time under the guidance of coach Francesco Farioli. Fortuna Düsseldorf, along with another 2. Bundesliga club and two Eredivisie clubs, have expressed interest in the midfielder. According to Icelandic journalist Orri Rafn Sigurdarson, Ajax is negotiating either a loan or sale deal for the 21-year-old. Currently, a loan appears to be the most feasible option, although no agreement has been finalized. Despite the ongoing transfer discussions, Hlynsson remains part of the match squad for the Europa League game against Rigas FS.
