Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is close to signing a new contract with the Serie A side, ending speculation of a move to Liverpool. (The Star)

Napoli have got no intention of letting Khvicha Kvaratskhelia leave this summer and intend to tie their superstar winger down to a new contract as soon as possible. However, there is interest from Liverpool in the player. Kvaratskhelia was outstanding for the Naples side as they stormed to the Serie A title last season and has been in great form this term even though his club’s title defense has been pitiful. He was however reported to be unhappy with the terms of his contract earlier this season. His current terms extend until 2027 and he makes around €1.5 million net per year.
