Kevin Strootman leaving Genoa?

Kevin Strootman, the Dutch midfielder of Genoa, has announced his imminent farewell to Genoa, and probably also to Italian football, at the end of the current season.

Kevin Strootman's career at Genoa, and almost certainly in Italy, is set to end after the next two games. The 34-year-old Dutch midfielder was known to be leaving the Rossoblu at the end of the season, at the natural expiry of his contract. Now, however, Strootman himself has confirmed it: "Two days ago Gilardino told me that my contract will not be renewed - the former PSV revealed to Radio Serie A - My journey at Genoa will end here".

Kevin Strootman's journey with Genoa is coming to an end. The Dutch midfielder, who has been a significant contributor to the Rossoblù cause in this Serie A season, is not negotiating a renewal and will say goodbye at the end of the season. With 75 appearances in Genoa's jersey, 34-year-old Strootman will have to decide whether to return to his homeland or perhaps embark on a new project in Italy. But not in Genoa: there are still three matchdays left in the league and then the two parties will say goodbye.

Kevin Strootman, seems ready to say goodbye. In this case, the player has long shown his future intentions, explaining that he wants to return to his homeland to end his career in the Netherlands. This seems to happen already in the next transfer window.
