Gerard Nijkamp, the technical director of Sparta Rotterdam, expressed his happiness with the signing, mentioning that the club had been observing Kayky for some time and maintained contact during his rehabilitation period. Nijkamp noted that Kayky's performance before his injury had convinced them to sign him on loan, and he believed that the player would strengthen the team once he is available again.
Kayky joins Sparta Rotterdam on a season-long loan from Manchester City. The 21-year-old Brazilian forward, who came through Fluminense's youth academy, was signed by City in 2023 for €10 million.
