Sampdoria demonstrated a strong interest in Karol Czubak and made a last-minute offer, but it was too late as Czubak had already reached an agreement with KV Kortrijk. Furthermore, Sampdoria's offer did not surpass the conditions provided by KV Kortrijk. Czubak had made up his mind to leave Arka Gdynia before the spring round began and to join the Belgian team. The proposal from Sampdoria, a club currently competing in Serie B, was insufficient to change the 25-year-old's decision, who had already committed to the Belgian club. Although Sampdoria, a club known to Polish players with Bartosz Bereszyński currently linked with them, expressed interest unexpectedly, the financial terms did not compete with those offered by KV Kortrijk.
