Al-Sadd made an offer of 1 million euros to purchase the last six months of Karl Toko Ekambi's contract at Al-Ettifaq. The offer included a two-and-a-half-year contract for the player. However, this offer was rejected by the management of Al-Ettifaq. Several other Qatari and Saudi clubs remain in contact with Ekambi to sign him for free next season.
