Jota Transfer from Rennes to Beşiktaş

Beşiktaş is reportedly planning to enhance its attacking options by acquiring the Portuguese winger Jota from Rennes in the upcoming winter transfer window. The 25-year-old winger had moved from the Saudi Arabian team Al Ittihad to Rennes in August 2024 for a transfer fee of 8 million Euros. Jota, who has previously played for clubs such as Benfica, Celtic, and Real Valladolid, has accumulated a total transfer fee of 53.3 million Euros over his career. Although he has a contract with Rennes until 2027, it is said that he is looking to leave due to limited playing opportunities, having only played 361 minutes across 10 matches this season. Beşiktaş is attempting to secure him on loan, with negotiations currently ongoing.

Beşiktaş is interested in signing Jota from Rennes, where he transferred from Al Ittihad in August. He has struggled to find his place at the French club, playing only 361 minutes in 10 matches. Beşiktaş is considering a loan with a purchase option, and discussions have begun.

Former Celtic star Jota is reportedly being offered an exit route at Rennes, as Turkish giants Besiktas are preparing to make a loan bid for the winger, who is currently out of favor. According to Turkish outlet Orta Çizgi, Besiktas are interested in bringing the wide player to Istanbul on loan for the remainder of the season. The former Portugal youth international had joined Rennes for €10 million (£8.3 million) last summer after experiencing a challenging year with Al-Ittihad in the Middle East. However, he has found it difficult to secure a regular starting position, having made only 10 appearances, including three starts, and has yet to play under new Rennes manager Jorge Sampaoli, who indicated that fringe players might be moved in January. Although Celtic fans are hoping for his return, they may face competition if Besiktas follows through with their interest.
