Jordy de Wijs is set to leave Fortuna Düsseldorf on a loan move. The 29-year-old defender will join the Dutch Eredivisie club SC Heerenveen for the second half of the season, with the arrangement not including a purchase option. Sports Director Christian Weber mentioned that all parties had mutually decided to look for a resolution in the winter due to the present circumstances in the central defender position. He also expressed their belief that Heerenveen represents the ideal opportunity for Jordy to gain regular playing time and regain his form. De Wijs, who has been part of Fortuna since 2022, has made 68 appearances for the team. The 2. Bundesliga club officially announced the transfer on January 2, 2025.
