Johnny Transfer from Real Betis to Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham has an option to buy Johnny Cardoso. This option was agreed upon during the negotiations for Gio Lo Celso's transfer. The option is valid only for a couple of weeks in June 2025.
Tottenham has reached an agreement with Real Betis for Johnny Cardoso, obtaining a 'priority option' to acquire him for a fixed fee of €30 million at their discretion. Tottenham may choose not to exercise this option before the current transfer window closes and could complete the signing in January or next summer. If Tottenham decides against purchasing Cardoso and Real Betis sells him to another club instead, Tottenham will receive a portion of the transfer fee.
As part of the negotiations for Lo Celso's transfer to Betis, the London club will have a purchase option on Johnny Cardoso for a fee between 25 and 30 million euros plus bonuses, which can only be activated in June 2025. Betis is seeking to retain a percentage of the transfer fee if Tottenham decides to exercise this purchase option, a point that remains under discussion until the final moments. Furthermore, Tottenham will have a right of first refusal on Johnny, enabling them to match any offer that Betis receives for the player while he is under contract with the verdiblanco club until 2029.
As part of the Lo Celso deal, Tottenham would have a priority option on Johnny Cardoso. Tottenham would have the first right of purchase if Betis decides to sell him in the future.
