Moreira Transfer from São Paulo to Porto
São Paulo offered right-back Moreira to FC Porto on loan, with an option to buy, as part of the deal for Wendell's transfer. Moreira holds a Portuguese passport and has represented Portugal's youth national teams. FC Porto had previously shown interest in Moreira during the summer transfer window.
João Moreira is considered an important asset in the potential transfer involving Wendell. FC Porto has shown interest in the young right-back this season. São Paulo, however, reportedly rejected the possibility of loaning the player, valuing him as a strategic element for their squad. It is understood that Moreira's departure will only be considered if a financial proposal reflecting his value is made. The 20-year-old, who holds dual nationality and has played for Portugal's U-18 team, is being looked at by São Paulo to potentially lower the cost of acquiring Wendell from Porto. Despite this interest, the negotiations are complicated by Wendell's contract with Porto, which lasts until June 2025, and discussions around his salary and contract duration are ongoing. It is suggested that Moreira, having played only 13 matches for São Paulo in 2024, might be open to a move to Portuguese football in January.
