Mendes has signed for Burnley on a free transfer. The contract is reportedly for two years. His transfer is officially considered as a move to Burnley's U21 team.

Burnley have signed Joao Mendes, the son of Ronaldinho, following his departure from Barcelona. Mendes has agreed to a two-year contract at Turf Moor.

João Mendes, son of Ronaldinho, left Barcelona's youth academy and joined Burnley, signing a two-year contract until June 2026. He joined the Catalan giants in March 2023 but could not establish himself in the Barça formation. In the 2023/2024 season, he participated in only nine games without scoring or assisting. He will now continue his career in England with the team coached by Scott Parker.
