Joan García Transfer from Espanyol to Bayer 04 Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen are keen on signing Joan Garcia as they are unconvinced about Matej Kovar as a long-term successor to Lukas Hradecky. Bayer boss Xabi Alonso is a huge fan of Garcia, and Espanyol's sporting director is willing to negotiate a fair price for the goalkeeper, possibly lower than his release clause.
Bayer Leverkusen, under the management of Xabi Alonso, is making notable efforts to persuade Joan Garcia to join their ranks. The club is considered a strong competitor against Arsenal, which was unsuccessful in acquiring Garcia last summer despite making a €20m offer. With Garcia's release clause presently at €25m, Leverkusen is among the teams actively seeking the goalkeeper, aiming to complete the transfer before any potential increase in the clause later this summer. Espanyol, Garcia's current club, seems more willing to negotiate with international clubs like Leverkusen rather than with domestic competitors such as Barcelona.
