J. Romaña leaving San Lorenzo?
Jhohan Romaña is eager to move from San Lorenzo to Gremio in Brazil, although San Lorenzo's president, Marcelo Moretti, has stated that he is not available for transfer. Gremio has maintained their $4.5 million bid for 80% of Romaña's transfer rights, but they have adjusted the payment terms to include $2.4 million in cash. Romaña is urging the club to accept Gremio's offer, as he is enticed by the more lucrative contract proposed by the Brazilian club. While San Lorenzo is in need of funds, the president is more inclined to transfer another player, Elián Irala, who is currently being pursued by Internacional. The Brazilian transfer window closes today and will reopen in three weeks, suggesting that if the transfer is not completed now, it could potentially be revisited in the near future.
Gremio showed interest in Jhohan Romaña and offered 4.5 million USD for 80% of his transfer rights. However, San Lorenzo rejected the offer and declared the player 'intransferible', meaning he will stay at the club at least until mid-year. The player is considered a key part of the team, and San Lorenzo initially considered accepting a proposal close to 6 million USD for the same percentage of his transfer rights, but ultimately decided against it.
