According to kicker information, 1. FC Union Berlin is interested in Woo-yeong Jeong from league rivals VfB Stuttgart. The two clubs are currently in negotiations. The 24-year-old was not even in the Swabians' squad for the Bundesliga opener in Freiburg (1-3). Jeong is versatile, able to play as a kind of second striker in a two-striker formation, but can also operate on the wings.

Woo-yeong Jeong is considered a major loser of the pre-season preparations at VfB Stuttgart. Due to numerous new signings in the offensive department, Jeong has significantly dropped in the internal rankings. Under coach Sebastian Hoeneß, he has little chance of regular appearances.
