Jean Thierry Lazare leaving Union Saint-Gilloise?

Thierry Lazare Amani has joined Standard de Liège on a loan deal from Union SG that will last until the end of the season, with an option for a permanent transfer. The 26-year-old Ivorian midfielder, who has played nearly 200 matches in Belgium, was a key player for Union SG since the summer of 2022. However, he has had limited opportunities this season, featuring in only eleven matches for a total of 445 minutes. Standard de Liège aims to provide Lazare with a more prominent role under the management of Ivan Leko. Lazare remains contracted to Union SG until 2027. The agreement was made public through Standard de Liège's official channels.

Standard de Liège is reportedly keen on acquiring Lazare Amani. Although no agreement has been finalized, sources suggest a loan deal with an option to buy is being considered. Lazare Amani is anticipated to undergo a medical examination at Standard de Liège. Despite interest from LASK Linz, it appears that Standard is likely to finalize the deal. Amani, who played a significant role at Union SG, was previously associated with a potential transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt for around 12 million euros. However, the transfer did not come to fruition, leading to him losing his place in the team and eventually submitting a transfer request.
