Jan-Niklas Beste Transfer from Benfica to RB Leipzig

Jan-Niklas Beste has been identified as a potential signing by several German clubs, including Leipzig. However, Benfica is not interested in losing Beste this month, as it would necessitate signing a new left-back.

Jan-Niklas Beste, who moved from Heidenheim to Benfica last summer for ten million euros, is on RB Leipzig's shortlist for the next transfer window. Sky Sport DE reports that Leipzig is considering Beste as a potential signing.

RB Leipzig is looking to strengthen several positions and is interested in loaning Jan-Niklas Beste for the left flank. According to 'LVZ', Beste can play both offensively and defensively. 'Sky' reports that initial contact has been made by RB Leipzig, who wants to secure a purchase option. Beste does not have a promising future at Benfica.

RB Leipzig is showing interest in acquiring Jan-Niklas Beste due to their defensive issues resulting from injuries. Beste has not gained the expected prominence at Benfica, despite the club investing €8 million in him with an additional €2 million possible in bonuses. Leipzig is contemplating either a loan or a direct purchase to strengthen their squad for the Champions League. The German club, currently positioned 4th in the Bundesliga, has been dealing with several defensive injuries, including those of Benjamin Henrichs and Castello Lukeba, which has led them to seek reinforcements. Beste, who plays as a left-back/winger, became a potential target after an impressive performance at Heidenheim last season. Although Crystal Palace initially expressed interest in the 25-year-old, Leipzig's familiarity with Beste and their financial capability to invest have positioned him as a prime candidate for their plans in the January transfer window.
