Jakob Lewald leaving Dynamo Dresden?

Jakob Lewald, defender from Dresden, was previously linked with third-league rival Rot-Weiss Essen. However, according to "Bild", the 25-year-old is now apparently heading to SV Sandhausen. There, the 25-year-old would meet his former Dynamo teammate Tim Knipping, also a defender. Lewald moved from Viktoria Berlin to Dresden two years ago and was recently a regular starter.

Jakob Lewald had declined several offers from SGD and was also courted by Rot-Weiß Essen, where his teammate Tobias Kraulich is moving. However, it seems that Sandhausen is winning the race.

Jakob Lewald has decided to change clubs. The central defender is nearly in agreement with SV Sandhausen. There, he would meet former Dynamo captain Tim Knipping. Together, they could form the new central defense duo of the Kurpfalz. Lewald had declined several offers from SGD and was also courted by Rot-Weiß Essen, where his teammate Tobias Kraulich is moving. However, it seems that Sandhausen is winning the race. Despite being a key defensive player, Lewald failed to bring about a turnaround in the downward trend of the second half of the season. Dynamo Dresden would have liked to keep him, but the upheaval is now getting bigger and next year Lewald could strengthen a third division competitor in the fight for promotion.
