Jakob Golz, whose contract was set to expire at the end of the season, has signed a new contract with Rot-Weiss Essen. According to the portal RevierSport, the new contract is valid until 2027, which would mark eight years for the 26-year-old at RWE. Golz is the longest-serving professional at Essen, having played 98 third division games, two DFB-Pokal matches, and 24 Regionalliga West fixtures for the club. He is considered one of the key players in Uwe Koschinat's team.
