German journalist Florian Plettenberg reported before Christmas that second division clubs Köln, Hannover, and Hertha Berlin are interested in Croatian striker Ivan Prtajin. Prtajin joined Union Berlin from Wehen Wiesbaden this summer but has only made two Bundesliga appearances due to a knee injury.
Ivan Prtajin wanted to be loaned to an ambitious second division club after a frustrating half-year at Union Berlin with only 16 minutes of play. However, the new coach Steffen Baumgart refused the transfer, promising Prtajin a new chance at Union Berlin.
