Ismail Jakobs leaving Monaco?
Ismail Jakobs, currently with Galatasaray, has been injured for the second time and is expected to miss the rest of the season. Due to his underperformance and recurring injuries, Galatasaray is considering terminating his contract. Discussions are planned with both Jakobs and his club, Monaco, regarding the contract termination.
Galatasaray loans Ismail Jakobs from AS Monaco. After the season, the Turkish club has a mandatory purchase option for the left-back, costing 8 million euros. The former Cologne player earns 2.1 million euros, as officially announced by the Istanbul club. In 2021, Jakobs moved from Cologne to Monaco and made 98 appearances for the French club (scoring one goal).
Apart from Galatasaray, several other teams from Europe are also interested in Ismail Jakobs. He is expected to listen to these offers before making a final decision. Jakobs wants to play in the Champions League, which might influence his decision.
