Isaac Hayden leaving Newcastle United?
Isaac Hayden, a midfielder for Newcastle United, has decided to change his international allegiance from England to Jamaica. Although he has played for England at various youth levels, he has not yet earned a senior cap for the national team, which allows him to make this transition. It was reported that Steve McClaren played a key role in convincing Hayden to join the Jamaica national team, known as the Reggae Boyz, as they strive to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Hayden is eligible to represent Jamaica through his father, and the necessary paperwork for his transfer is being finalized ahead of the November international break.
Isaac Hayden’s hopes of playing at the 2026 World Cup have been dealt a blow after being left out of Newcastle’s Premier League squad. The 29-year-old is the only senior Newcastle player not to be included in the 25-man list submitted on Friday, with the expectation he would secure a loan move earlier in the transfer window.
Newcastle are hoping to move on Isaac Hayden, who is currently training with the Under-21s.
