While the Bulgarian club did not disclose the transfer fee, 'Sportbladet' indicated that AIK would receive 1.75 million euros from the transaction. The payment arrangement was a significant factor, with CSKA Sofia agreeing to pay in two installments, in contrast to Legia Warszawa's proposal of at least four payments. It was reported that Pittas had a preference for playing in Warsaw, but he was swayed by CSKA Sofia's offer of a net annual salary of 560,000 euros, which was higher than Legia's offer of 480,000 euros.
